Hayley E Wallenfeldt is a New York and Chicago based theatre artist born and raised in Chicago with a passion for history, art, and collaboratively creating immersive spaces.

Hayley has spent their entire life fascinated with the way people create space and how objects and place-making define identity. This love of the tactile manifestations of human experience led them to pursue studying theatre design and archaeology.

They received their degree in Theatre, History, and Archaeology from Northwestern University. Hayley spent the 2023 summer as the Scenic Design Apprentice at the Glimmerglass Festival. She received USITT's 2025 Scenic Design Award Sponsored by Rosebrand and is  a recipient of Opera America's 2025 Robert L.B. Tobin Director-Designer Prize. They have worked with a select group of theaters across the Midwest and East Coast telling stories on stage with purpose.
